Default The last episode with Irene

I can never remember when the last time we saw the Lorenzo's was. I think it was in the 74-75 season but I just can't remember. Which episode was it. I know the actor who played Frank left to do a show and Irene remained for a few more after Frank left.

It kind of ODD that Her last appearance was the first ep of a NEW SEASON instead of the last ep of the previous season

The person asked what was Irene last episode she was in, and that was the last episode she was in, she wasn't seen after that. And when it's going off I'm sure her name pops up in the closing credits.

Anyone know why she left the show? Was it to start Laverne & Shirley?

Yes the fact L&S premeired in early 1976, production for the show had to start in late 1975

Default Why

The unusual thing is that the AITF writers never addressed what happened to the neighbors, Frank and Irene Lorenzo. The actors left and the characters were never mentioned again.

I guess we were supposed to assume they moved out the neighborhood

Irene's last episode was Gloria's baby shower. She was last mentioned in a later episode by making a call to Edith off camera where Archie is going to go into business with a man who has a gadget to ring a doorbell when you are several feet from the door.

Well I can't say Betty Garret's decision was silly because she left One Hit Show and found herself on another-'Laverne and Shirley"

Hello, I'm new to Sitcomsonline, but I wanted to say that the reason Betty Garrett (Irene) left All in the Family was because after Gloria had her baby on the show, there wasn't much left for her to do and her role was phased out. (According to Betty's autobiography, "Betty Garrett and Other Songs.") She also said that she liked doing AITF more than L&S.

Hope this helps.
