Hey I wanted to know if anyone would like to share any nightmares that they experienced as a result of watching "Unsolved Mysteries". I will share one that I had as a child. As I have probably said before, this show scared me as a kid, but for some reason I was drawn to it. No matter how scared I got,I continued to watch it. One episode in particular that gave me a nightmare was the ghost episode where there was a boy in the house and he hears voices or loud noises. Terrified, He runs out of the house and turns around to see a face in the window! Well, I had a dream that I was on my way to school one morning and I heard laughing... and no one else was in the house. I rush out the door, and turn around and there is a face in my bedroom window!! That episode gave me the creeps, and caused a nightmare I will never forget! I want to know what nightmares you guys had as a result of this show!

Babydollz24, I too was strangely drawn to the series when I was a kid, even though it scared the tar out of me. I remember tuning in every week, getting scared and thinking to myself "I'm never gonna watch this program again.", but sure enough would tune in the following week. That and Rescue 911, which also debuted in the late '80's. Rescue 911 used to get to me to, but that show only ended up staying on for a few years. Too many nightmares to mention

Rescue911 with SHAT!!!
The thing about 911 was all the stories as I recall always had a happy ending.. but I remember a story about the kid in Arkansas who had a severe asthma attack while playing football.. that one scared the bejeebers out of me because I was playing football and I was defensive linemen just like him! Shat's narration..was :: pregnant pause for dramatic effect :: classic UM on the other hand...there are still some killers/ghost/ufo aliens/bigfoot and chupucabras on the loose out there and you never know when they might get you!

That was one of the best, scariest episodes of all time. I haven't seen it in 12 years and thinking about it still creeps me out. The face looking out the window was the worst part.

No, I haven't had any nightmares. Not yet anyway. Robert Stack's voice and Peter Thomas's voice are two of my favorites of all time.

I'm sure I had some, but its been such a long time I can't remember. I do remember that UM fell on the same night that I had to take the garbage out. I'd race the barrel down the drive-way as quickly as I could after being terrified by the show. On particularly bad weeks, I'd have to take out two garbage cans. It probably would have been wiser to handle all that before UM instead of after

I don't have nightmares. I have daymares. I'm naturally paranoid, so watching this show screws me up majorly. I have trouble walking through my house without turning and shouting, "You guys better just leave or I'll kill you." and such. I can't wash shampoo out of my hair in a shower all at once typically because I have to stop, wipe my eyes, and make sure no one is waiting to kill me. I have horrible visions in my head about all sorts of paranoid things. It's impossible to avoid it. It controls my life when I am alone.
In general, I can't sit facing away from the majority of a room when I'm alone or else I'll have horrible visions of...just...nightmareish things. *sigh* But it's so awesome, UM is... |

Ranion, this is so weird: I know exactly what you're talking about regarding hurrying up to take out the trash cans after UM, I used to find myself doing it several times myself too!

Man, you might want to talk to a professional about these things. I'm no Tom Cruise, but I think a shrink might be able to help you with some of these thoughts. That is unless this kind of paranoia is not a hinderance to your daily life.

Well, I wrote that yesterday. Yesterday was a pretty bad day for that whole paranoia thing. It doesn't really control my life too bad, but at night it's just like you guys, doing things fast. Like, running to put trash and running back. I was alone during the day and it had an effect on me, but I think I'm alright today and in general. *shrug*

OMG, goofyman, I can be the same way at times. I swear when you were talking about washing your hair and having to wipe your eyes, I was like " Thats me"! Ok, I am not mega paranoid or anything, but if I watch Unsolved Mysteries and then go take a shower, then yeah I am gonna be a little on edge, especially if I am alone in the house. And I almost always hear noises. Also, when I am showering, and alone in the house, I sometimes peek every so often out of the shower curtain expecting to see one of those creepy composite sketch people waiting for me behind it!!!

Sometimes, when I'm about to fall asleep at night, I'll suddenly see that horrible polaroid of the girl who might be Tara Calico, and forget it - I'm up for hours.
A sort of semi-waking nightmare. |

my parents had it on in 94' or something and I would have been 6 at the time. There was one about some guy who fell from his window and they thought someone pushed him so for along time I was afraid to go by windows. I had a ton of nightmares about falling to my death. Still creeps me out 12 years latter.
