Post Starting Out

How, and when, did you discover your now favorite shows, that you just MUST watch when they come on? As for me:

The Facts of Life- I was in my room one night, just flipping channels, and I came upon the show- It was the very end of 'New Girl, Part 2', in the premiere marathon on N@N- but I didn't know that then.

I Love Lucy- I watched at a neighbor's house a couple years ago, and I was laughing so much that I started watching it all the time.

Gilligan Island- I started watching it when it premiered on N@N because I'd gotten a tip that it was a cool show.

Diff'rent Strokes- Same as Gilligan's Island.

Three's Company- Same as the Facts of Life, only I started watching this show a few years earlier, when it was on the WB network.

Facts Of Life-When it was on USA, but I wasn't as interested as I was now into it.

Diff'rent Strokes-When it first aired on N@N.

Three's Company-When it was on TBS, but I payed no attention to it really.

All In The Family-When it firs aired on N@N.

Laverne & Shirley - when it first premeired on N@N. I thought BPS had started, so I tuned in and found L&S on. Then I found out it was a marathon, so I watched it all week. Then I saw it on Monday on BPS, so I watched it all summer... then I watched it all the time.

Happy Days - well, my friend had always liked it but everytime I watched it I would always get oart 2 or part 3 of a multiple-part episode, so I really couldn't judge it fairly. When I found out L&S had spun off from it, I started watching it regularly.

Talking

FOL-During the marathon (run 1) towards the end of Molly's Holiday

Alf-I knew Alf before I knew my alphabet(Early-Mid 89) You know, heading towards the last season.

I Love Lucy-not really sure

Who's the boss-I remember seeing my first WTB? episode about the time I saw ALF for the first time (see above), got hooked a few months later (and remember, I was only going on 3 then)

As you can see, I've been a TV fan for a long time.

Facts of life: I heard it had girls in it(blush)
Avonlea: I saw The Challangers and thought Gema Zamprogna was pretty. I did research and found out she also played in Avonlea. Now I love it.
Star Trek: It's cool and has lessons hidden in it.

I Love Lucy: I was babysitting this kid that watched Nick at Nite and I watched it with him one night when an episode of the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour was on and just fell in love with it and classic TV in general

I Dream of Jeannie: Just saw it on Nick, laughed, and kept watching.

WKRP: My dad loves this show and I started watching it with him and again, laughed and kept watching.

Adam-12: Another one of my dad's favs, I had watched it semi-regularly before I went to school in the morning because he watched it and I've always kinda liked cop shows, but I fell in love with it a few weeks ago when it was the fandemonium show. I watched it 12 hours straight and only stopped because I fell asleep. Then Sunday I did the same thing. I went through Adam-12 withdrawls for a week.

The Monkees: During Block Party Summer 1997. Turned in to see how dumb it was and found myself glued to the screen. Then they had to take it off. I got so mad I wrote a nasty letter to Nick.

Hogan's Heroes: I started watching this regularly after I became obsessed with Family Feud because Richard Dawson was in it. But that's not the only reason I watch it, honest.

Odd Couple: During Odd Couple Odd Weeks on Nick. It's just soooo funny!

Gilmore GIrls-- read about it in TV guide or EW or something, so I watched the first one and I was addicted.
That's Life-- I was grounded one Sat..so I watched it...it's about people in NJ, so it is automatically cool
FOL- Watch the on with El Debarge at like 3 in the morning during the initial marathon, and didn't really like it...then I saw one the next day about them still @ school and yeah I was addicted...
That '70s show-- I saw it on an airplane about a year 1/2 ago, while going down to Puerto Rico, and watched it there, becuase I had to babysit my sister there every night (don't get me started) and then when we went down to PR this year, I saw it again on the airplane and it was cool...

Gilligan's Island- I started watching the show like 2 or 3 years ago. I was sitting in my living room and I turned it to channel 6. I didn't know what was on and I just wanted to watch something. I heard about this show called Gilligan's Island and it said it was coming to nick-at-nite and it looked funny by the commercials. So that night an episode happens to be on. For other Gilligan fans it was #46 "Hi-Fi Gilligan" it was when a typhoon was coming to the island and Gilligan turned into radio and lots of other things were happening. So when I watched it it made me laugh and I just loved the show. At that time Gilligan's Island was coming on 9:00- 10:00pm, an hour. So I started watching it everyday. It was getting close to summer and it came on the block party summer. I knew what block party summers were and that was when they ran like 6 episode of Gilligan's Island but This show was lucky because there was an extra episode. I always looked forward to every Tuesday. I was going to camp, like a summer camp, not at the forest or anything like that,it was just a building I went to. Well, anyway sometimes every Tuesday I used to stay up to 12:30 to watch every episode of the show. Then I couldn't do that anymore so I had it taped. But it was my dad's tape so I couldn't keep it on it and until later I taped all 98 episodes. So then I would come home from camp and watch the episodes but it would just get taped over every week by me to see it. I liked the show very much that I kept watching it evey day that I kept watching that tape till next Tuesday. After the block Party summer I thought will I ever get to see this show again, so I looked it up in the tv guide and It came on at 5:30am and sometimes I would wake up to see it. It was later when it was back to school for me when I started taping the show. I don't know why I did that but I thought that in case it goes of the air and stops running I'd have it on tape. So Ididn't finsh until this year because I miss some. Later I wanted to find more info on the show so I looked up Gilligan's Island on the computer. Now I know a lot about GI and I'm a big fan of the show.

Get Smart - I started watching Get Smart when it was on Tv Land running a marthon of it for 2 days. So I am flipping through the channels and I see this show. It was funny and I wanted to watch it. There is a funny thing about this because my dad liked watching Gilligan's Island and loved watching Get Smart and now I am watching it. Classic tv shows are better than the shows on today, don't get mad it's just my opinion. Well, anyway I just liked Get Smart and would watch it every time it came on. I'm not that big a fan of Get Smart like I am Gilligan's Island but I like the show very much. I guess that I had more time to learn and do more things with Gilligan's Island since I really got into it during the Summer, when I was off from school. Now almost everyday I watch get Smart on Tv Land after I do my homework.

I Love Lucy- I don't remember when I started watching it, I think I was about 8 or 9. Well, The show was so funny and I just liked a lot about it. There is a lot about this show I would like to say about how I like it but my post is getting very long so to make a long story short, It's one of my fave showsand I just like it very much.

The Beverly Hillbillies- Sorry but I have I more show I want to put. All I want to say is that I liked this show as soon as I saw it and thought it was very funny. I liked alot of things about this show also but that would also be a lot to type.

Well those are the shows I want to put but there are much more but the ones I put are my real favorites that's why I put them.

FOL: I was babysitting one night, and when the kid went to sleep, I just started flipping throught the channels and there it was on. The marathon, no less. It sucked me in right there.

The only other show I got obsessed over was Dawson's Creek. Hey, don't cringe in disgust just yet. See, I was only psycho about it during the FIRST season. The CLASSIC season. That was when everyone was raving about it... The best ever season of any show i've watched.
But then, they let Jack and Andie come in and ruin everything. The second AND third seasons were utter dissapointments. I haven't even watched an episode in a year or so...And I can't believe that Joey and Pacey are together! That's just not right!
Sorry, I'm rambling now...
