Default What are your trading policies?

I'm surious to know, what are all of your trading policies.

Mine are plain and simple.

1. I often trade even, most of the times I tend to give you a little more than you asked for, because it's the only way you feel you did someone nice

2. First off, I do NOT sell under ANY circumstances whatsoever, I only TRADE.

3. I trade disc for disc, NO EXCEPTIONS, I do not want any VHS, VCD or AVI, unless if it is a show I am desperately looking for.

4. I burn high quality 8x DVD Media, and expect you to do the same, NO CHEAP ASS BRANDS!!! ALL THEY DO IS BURN S***! And try and lay off the RW's. I use DVD-R when I have only those, and DVD+R when I have only those, I never have both at the same time hardly, I don't take requests, you get whatever I have, but I do only purchase Memorex, TDK and Imation.

5. I will only ship first if you have some good refrences, other than that, you ship first.

6. My DVD's have Charming Avanced Menu's that will contain photos of the series on the menu, I do not use the plain crap TITLE junk, my DVD burning program is an advanced program for creating high quality attractive DVD's.

7. It will take me about 1 day to duplicate the discs, so I usually send out the day after the trade is set.

8. I would like us to have good communication and be friends, I do not want to trade with some one who does not have respect.

Anybody else have their own rules or policies? Let's share them!

Default Good question as always KHF

Good question as always KHF

Lets see for me....

7 Classic guidelines

1-He who initiates trades for the first trade- after that I go off trust/instinct

2-I only use high quality media, in and out, and do either 8x or 16x. I rarely do below. And I don't accept below in.

3-If it is more than 15$ between media and shipping- I track/insure.
It isn't worth the headache not to. I'll still have to remake it, but at least it wont cost me 2x.

4-Communication is a must for me.
I tell the person when I am pulling the items and verify them.
I let them know when I plan to hsip and confirm once it ships.
I let them know I got it, and always leave feedback.
If I am waivering towards bad feedback, I always, always discuss it with them first- and only if not other alternative or compromise is available.

5-I finish what I start, before a new project. I dont start a new trade, until the current one is done, and by done I mean the other has received and checked them.

I dont list, what I dont have and haven't checked.
And I don't list things that I "can get"

6-I dont sell.
No ebay accounts, No Ioffer accounts.

If I want to buy, I buy from retail stores- I never put the burdon of selling or buying into trading.
It makes for bad blood.
If your good friends, its insulting to be charged.
If you don't like the quality your insulting-
If you trade off what you sold, people are angry you couldn't find something to trade- resentment builds.
I just don't mix it.

7-And last but not least, my policy is trading is a hobby not a job. I don't let it ever replace my family or obligations.
I don't force trades, and I never give anyone any grief if they can't find something on my list.
Trading is a hobby, not a requirement. And trading one another is a privledge, not an expectation.

I do not sell, only trade. I don't trade copies of retail discs. (however, I do buy discs... )

I only use the good, name-brand discs. 16x.

When I write on discs, I write neatly! [ahem!]

I always ship in padded envelopes and wrap discs in plastic so they don't get wet. (I have received some ruined discs because of moisture). I never put more than 2 disc in a sleeve, and put them back-to-back.

I usually use first-class (with confirmation # for larger orders). Sometimes Priority Mail if other trader uses it, or if a large trade.

I never trade what I don't have in hand.

I try to make sure that I let traders know condition and quality of shows before trading.

Communication is important to me. I like to let traders know when an item is shipped. And I let folks know when I have received items. (I have forgotten a couple of times though...but then I'm getting old and memory is one of the first things to go...I've forgotten what the others are!)

I try not to do more than one trade at a time. I only have one burner and can't handle too much at once!

I try to check all discs before sending to make sure there are no problems. Though a couple have been known to slip by QC.

I am not perfect by any means, but I do my best and try to be friendly!! And as with most things in life, I try to live by the Golden Rule! To paraphrase: "Trade with others, as you would have them trade with you!"

I love this list and all the people on it! (ok, most of the people... )

Jenny

The "don't sell, only trade" policy is more common than I thought, I figured I was the only one with that policy

Default RULES

i have a RULES OF TRADING PAGE right there on my site
so NO MISCOMMUNICATION

i am flexible sometimes, i DO trade with vhs traders and then ill transfer to dvd myself

i have EVEN traded some dvds for some rare wrestling action figures for one of my boys

I think that if traders set up CLEAR rules it would save a lot of hard feelings

ALSO some common sense rules

IF THE PERSON SENDS ME JUNK or GREATLY MISREPRESENTED ITEMS i will NOT Honor the trade NOR WILL I WASTE my $ to return the items---- if someone sends me a 4 of 10 set that they claim is WONDERFUL, then they aint getting nothing from me except hard feelings

Like Agent13... Do unto others....

or "Don't trade with so and so... you'll just get burned!"

My rules are in my signature....same as most of the good folk here...not picky, just don't cross me, and we'll be fine

or Joker will come after you "Wimp! You should have kept quiet, laid lo, kept your mouth shut and shut up!, but you couldn't could you! Now you 'gonna git it!"

I'm another one who never sells or trades for blanks.

I prefer DVD but do not limit myself to DVD. (Most of the stuff I'm still in search of is very rare, so I'll take it however I can get it.)

If I initiate the trade, I send first. If someone I don't know initiates the trade, they must send first. I'm willing to bend the rules if it's someone I've traded with sucessfully before and/or they have a good rep here on SO.

I guess that's pretty much it, for me.
