Do you guys get on your computer when it is storming?

My mom won't let me. I just got my computer about... well... a little over a month ago.

Is it safe to do so??

I think that you have to be careful whenn there's a thunderstorm and your on the computer, because it can be affected by it, and it could really screw it up.

It's very risky to be on while it is storming, if you are make sure you have a surge protector...and some insurance!

I never get on the computer when it's thunderstorming. I especially don't because my computer is next to a window and being on something with electricity is dangerous.

Well I usually do stay on my computer when it is storming but that is because I am a BAD MONKEY!!!

You really should not use the computer when there is a storm. It is really best to turn all electronic equipment off. My roomates's stereo got destroyed by some electrical surge we had in the house last year after a storm.

If you think your mom is bad...my mom wouldn't let me watch TV or take a shower during thunderstorms either!

Just bumping this up because there's actually a t-storm now and I'm on. Basically, I've never asked, but I have a surge alert or something that when it gets bad it automatically shuts off the computer. I don't know how it works though; but it's helpful!

Yes I try to shut down and get off/pull the plug when I hear a storm buddy because I dont want my computer to not shut down right for one thing.... (If it just loses power it tells me it wasnt shut down right @ next boot)
