Default Re: the people you have dated in your life, what kind of jobs or professions

did they have? Did the kind of job or profession they had play a factor in your relationship?

I dated a guy who was in the marine corps. He had been in the corps. for abt a year. I really liked him. I was only 16 and he was 19, but I couldn't deal with the separation. Of course I was a teen and a young girl wants a guy who is around much more. Seeing him maybe three times a month was not cutting it. I decided to just let him go after six months.

I dated a police officer for three months. He was really nice. But, he wanted more out of the relationship and I didn't. I wanted to date and have fun, but having just been single a short time, I wasn't ready for that kind of commitment.

I dated guys that had your regular jobs in companies, 9-5 sort of thing. I really like when a guy has a "blue collar" type of job. Something where he isn't wearing a suit and tie. I love men in suit and ties, but not when they work. I love the grunge type of job.

my boyfriend is in construction. When I would visit him on various job sites, it was exciting to me to see him all dirty, working hard, etc.

It's interesting when you date so many people and have to figure out sooner or later if both are on the same page or not.
I haven't dated anything out of the ordinary; my x's work history or lack of it is too long to post, after divorcing I dated a guy that had a factory job. Had a very dry period in between and have dated 3 more times in the last 3 months. I think variety is the key. lol

I've dated enough actresses to know that I really shouldn't date actresses.

I've only dated my husband LOL and he's an Investment Banker. He's so anal about keeping things organized and that gets on my nerves a lot

I should take a picture of his home office desk, it would trip some of you out, everything is so straight.

All the guys I dated were blue collar workers mostly construction and factory workers. My husband is a carpenter, makes furniture and helps build houses. I don't think that the careers these guys had really played a factor in our relationship. As long as the guy made an honest living, had a place of his own and was able to take care of himself was all I was looking for and it took me a while to find it. I do find something very sexy about blue collar workers though. I like the type of guys who are good with their hands like Tom. He made a lot of the furniture in our house himself and when I look at the cradle and rocking horse he built for our son and the curio cabinet he built just for me it makes me very proud.

I worked in a supercenter (like a super Walmart) for 13 years and 90% of the guys I've dated also worked there, lol. Not always the wisest decision to date co-workers, lol.

I dated a roofer, a musician, a prison guard, a chef, a carpet installer, an executive (real jerk), a guy who owned a knife sharpening company (for restaurants), a mortgage broker, and a few others that I'm forgetting. I got around.

I've dated a waiter and a goat farmer. And people wonder why I'm single and hard up for a date.
