Default I think it would have been more interesting for Esther NOT to argue with Grady during

The absence of Redd Foxx because it would have really shown viewers how much the Esther and Fred hated each other. So i thought it was kind of corny to have Grady and esther go at it like Fred and Esther would have done. Especially when Grady and Esther never argued before-lol

True. It's like George and Florence. Although Florence could go at it with different people, the way she went at it with George was priceless. I agree with you on this.

Grady just couldn't insult Esther like Fred could. Well, he couldn't deliver like Fred.

Esther's insults were a lot better when she went against Grady

Cool "THE GRADYS"

THE GRADYS is how i refer to the eps without Redd

they were awful, they just used scripts that were ALLREADY written for Redd and had Grady fill in

made no sense at all

Lamont was 30some years old and he needs Grady to look after him while his Pop is gone?

those were the worst
i recall as a teenager how mad i was to see a GRADY ep and i longed for Redd to come back!

But Grady was in no position to talk about anybody so that's why it wasn't funny

Yeah but a couple of them where pretty funny. The one with cousin Emma, the one where Lamont tries to take up karate, and the one where the chick shows up and thinks Grady is Fred. But Grady was at his best as a side kick to Fred. I, too, thought it was a little stupid that Lamont needed a "babysitter" but there's no way Lamont could have carried that show alone.
