Since it's the setting that is changing, and not the food, McDonald's may not run into the fiasco experienced by Coca-Cola when they introduced New Coke in 1985.

This just doesn't seem right. I dunno, it doesn't feel like McDonald's at all.

I'd feel weird eating a coke and fries in a place like that. It's too formal for crappy food.
Looks like a cool place to eat...but not as a McDonald's. |

It just doesn't seem natural.
I hate when people decide they need to update things that really don't need to be updated. I have memories of going to McDonald's all my life, and it always looked the same way...now, it's going to be all modernized, and for what? The general consensus at this board, which I'm sure is a pretty good representation of the general population, is that this SUCKS! I just really hate change sometimes. |

Like I remember when I was a young kid, whenever a new Disney movie would come out or whenever they were re-releasing an older classic in the theaters like they used to with Pinocchio, etc. that my Grandpa would take me in the afternoon to see it one weekend, and usually before that or sometimes after we'd stop at McDonald's, and 99% of the time when a Disney movie was out then McDonald's would have the toys to tie in with the movie. I actually haven't thought about that for a long time, until this thread. It's weird what random things can bring out of your memory sometimes. |

In late January I went to the location in Beavercreek (east of Dayton) across from Wright State University, and they had hanging mood lights as is described in the seventh picture (which reminded me of Quizno's and Boston Market--owned by the Golden Arches, by the way!) on the website mentioned, while the fluorescent lights that were traditionally part of the ceiling with "cross-Ts" (for lack of a better term) were out.
I don't mind the changes too much, but my regular quarter pounder extra value meal had less fries than last time.
