I could be in the middle of typing something, and half of it didn't get typed because of those stupid drop down banners at the top of these boards.

The banners don't interfere with my posting. It must be my browser or something. The way the banners flash drives me nuts.

I agree - it is very annoying. It doesn't really happen when I am typing as much as it happens when the page is loading and freezes up for a few seconds.
I have installed the Google toolbar to stop the majority of the popups, but I still get about one or two. They are always the same ones, too. I can't remember which ones it is at the moment, but I will get back to that the next time I come across it. |

I hate and find them extremely annoying when they pop up while I'm trying to type something and/or look at interesting info. on the net.

I use Firefox with ADBlock, but for IE users, try this program http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/fil...d,22475,00.asp

I have Firefox and must have some kind of good blocker because all I get is half of one. Sometimes, if I click fast enough it doesn't get a chance with me.

It's not just those ads, but those "flashing" banners that say, I was like, the 1000th person to log on, and guess what, I won something. If my luck is that good, I should go buy a superlotto ticket. All those flashing ads just get me heading for the medicine cabinet for a couple of Excedrin (the flashing can trigger a migraine)
