Another example of the writers making the J.J character more STUPID

The Fact that J.J was making a nice salary and worked in an Office enviroment where he had to dress professionally and he never made any effort to move OUT of the projects. Can you picture someone with a suit on coming out of the projects to go to work?-lol So the mentality of the J.J character was still kind of wacky since he didn;t want to move him and thelma and Michael out of the projects.



BTW: J.J deciding to share a car with THREE GUYS in season 5 is another example of the J.J character not being NORMAL-lol

NEW DEBATE, LOL. Making a move too fast is sometimes not a good idea. He was probably supporting Michael and Thelma partly, and that adds up, along with buying new clothes for a good job. Yes, it would have been best to get out of there, but sometimes moving too quickly only gets you burned, because he did end up losing his job and then they may not have been able to get back into the building. If you had a steady job for a year or so and saved some money, then yes.

Exactly!!!!! Someone at least in that family was watching how James foolishly spent that money he would get!!!!! LMAO!!!!

Although, JJ was sure dumb to splurge (remnants of James) on caviar (not necessary) for that wedding. Had he felt the need to splurge, he should have hired a professional photographer, one that wouldn't have caused Keith to fall and break his leg...

what JJ said and what REALLY WAS, are two different things. Besides, going from the chicken shack to working in an advertising agency, I would be saying the same thing. Anything next to that fast food job is BIG TIME.

You know how proud JJ must have felt going from working at the chicken place to going to a real career? I know people who live very modestly and have all kinds of money. My dad drove an old beat up car, even though me and my sister told him to buy a brand new one. He never looked as if he had money. But let me tell you something, you can't judge a book by its cover. Some people drive in cars they can't afford, wear clothes that they paid over $300 for and you know what, they can't afford to.
JJ was the man of the house. He needed to take care of others before himself. The only time he indulged was when he bought himself clothes.

Absolutely. Most people that drive expensive cars and wear expensive clothes are in debt up to their eyeballs, lol. People that really have money usually don't like to waste it by "flaunting it", cuz then you don't have it long. And it must be a dad thing, my dad always had an old van, and my friends' dads would drive older cars and not give a crap, even though they had more than enough money to always be buying new ones, lol. But that brings me back to my original point, some people get a good job and 2 seconds later they are signing a lease on an apartment that is way too expensive or buying a house that is really beyond their means, too many people really push it and then wonder how they f*cked up, lol.

I still believe the ratings dropped because people(ESPECIALLY BLACK) were tired of seeing no improvements for the Evans by season 5. Just the same ole small Project Apartment.

Ratings dropped because people probably wanted to watch something else, they only had one t.v. in the house and they were sh*t outta luck. Ratings dropped because Flo left. Ratings went down when James was killed off. Ratings dropped when new characters were brought in and the "feel" of the original GT was no longer there. I for one, was happy to see Happy Episodes, other than dreary WHERE ARE WE GONNA GET THE MONEY FOR THE RENT episodes.
