Default No James, No Florida...No Money Problems?!?

It always bothered me how the kids had no money problems when both the James and Florida characters left the show. A perfect example of this is the beginning of season 5 in "The Evans get Involved" and Thelma and JJ had nice professional looking costumes for the carnival. How the heck could they afford such extravagant costumes. If Flo and James were around, they would have to wear something that Florida made them.

I recall mentioning something similar a while back. Notice no more oatmeal? it was pancakes!!!!! Thelma made a ROAST when Keith came over for dinner. They had better clothes. They had more things in the apartment: carpet, knick-knacks, plants, shelves, etc.

Maybe they rented the costumes or they were provided for them by the carnival, but you know TV, not always very accurate, lol. They probably were bringing in more money, but with no parents around, they were probably wasting it. When you're young, and you start making money, you start spending more, especially when no one is around to advise you to save it.

Didn't Michael say he had a few jobs. I know he said he got a part time job a few times. I think he said he was tutoring people too. They really should have put money in the bank.
