No, that's pretty low. I remember checking when season 2 first came out and the highest it got to was I think around 1,300. IMO, that's not good. It actually bombed compared to the recent Facts of Life release, whose rank is up in the double digits (#42 right now) which is pretty awesome. I, myself, am not so optimistic now about seeing future seasons of Diff'rent Strokes, unfortunately.
The Amazon sales rank is simple, though. The lower the number rank the better the item is doing. |

Also, note that these sales rankings are for the current day only...after a DVD has been available for awhile on Amazon, it's sales rankings tend to go up and down like a yo-yo. Look at these current Amazon sales rankings for some other 1970s Sony TV-DVD sets... Sanford & Son: Season 6 ---> 22,118 What's Happening?: Season 3 ---> 15,217 Good Times: Season 5 ---> 16,238 The Jeffersons: Season 4 ---> 9,320 Archie Bunker's Place: Season 1 ---> 21,397 Also, just because a DVD has a high sales ranking on Amazon, doesn't necessarily mean it will sell well overall. A DVD may sell well on Amazon...but not so well in retail shops, or vice versa. I remember when Night Court: Season 1 was released, it was almost (if not in) in the Top 10 at Amazon...but apparently, sales weren't so great overall, as WB decided that they wouldn't be releasing any more seasons of that show. (well, not without testing the waters with a "best of" disc, anyway...) |

I'd love to see the rest of the seasons released as well but I'm not holding my breath. Sales mean everything. And I gave up on Barney Miller and Happy Days a long while ago.
