Default Did anybody really like Pearl?

This is just my opinion, but I found Pearl the maid to be so annoying and unfunny. She definitely didn't have the character or personality of Edna or Adalaide.

Everytime I hear Mary Jo as Mrs. Puff, I still see her as Pearl from Diff'rent Strokes. Don't know why.

Hell no!!!

she was one of those character actresses that was always mouthy, smart-alecky, brassy, she basically played the same person no matter what show she did.

I always thought she was a nice character but nothing memorable.

She was just so boring. With Adalaide, you got a lot of energy and with Edna you got a motherly figure for the kids, but you got neither with Pearl.

You already said that. Besides, what does that have to do if whether you liked Pearl or not?

I liked Pearl, but I liked Adelaide better but Mrs. G was the best.

I don't know. I just find it still ironic, though. Mary Jo played a snooty neighbor and suspicious neighbor in Serial Mom and I still see that character inside of her everywhere. Does not matter if she played a different character, it is like a mirrored image. You can see the same character in her, no matter how different it is. I don't know if that makes any sense, but that's how I see it. I don't hate the character, but it is exactly the same role she played as the third maid a bit.

And she never changed her voice at all...

Default Curiosity about Adelaide

Did it ever occur to anybody watching this back in the day that Adelaide was TOO OLD to be cleaning that big old penthouse???

LOL!!

I mean the woman HAD to be in her 80's at LEAST!
I know there's the thing about keeping busy in your golden years but this is ridiculous!

Ain't no way! LOLOL!

It's amazing the stuff you let slide when you watched TV back then.
You look back on it one day & you start thinking...WTF?!

Sometimes stuff just didn't make no KIND of sense!

Adelaide was still the FUNNIEST housekeeper to me because she was LIVELY and SILLY. Something Mrs. Garret or Pearl didn't bring to the show
