Remember the segment about Jodi Huisentruit? She was the Iowa news anchorwoman who disappeared in 1995. UM did a segment about the case in early 1996.
According to a new article, there might be a break in the case. So far, no arrests have been made, but the search is now focused on an area where Jodi is believed to be buried. The lake in the area in question is being drained, and they will be digging the earth to see what is buried there. http://www.kstp.com/article/stories/S16074.html?cat=1 |

Interesting, but I'll say it's not her. Why would a grave shaped digging have the object so low in the ground that it requires ground penetrating radar? The article says deep in the ground. Deep in the ground is going to be a huge hole, like the one where Lisa Kimmell's car was eventually found. No one digs a grave shaped hole and makes it especially deep.
That's generally not the MO of people who bury a body after a murder. Especially someone who crudely abducted her in the middle of an apartment complex parking lot, allowing plenty of opportunity to be caught right there, with her items scattered all over the parking lot. I don't think that type of perpetrator would be careful enough to bury a body so deep. Obviously, I hope I'm wrong and they do find the body. I suppose the body could have DNA traces via semen if she was raped, or perhaps the grave contains other items, something that could link to a specific killer. |

Hey, a heads up regarding this case. I'm watching The Abrams Report on MSNBC right now and Dan Abrams will be doing a segment on the potential grave and digging it up.
The show repeats later tonight, I believe more than once. |

I'm afraid they found nothing but rocks, bricks and wood after digging.
What puzzles me, is that it sounds as if this Duane Arnold didn't say anything when he noticed this area days after Huisnetruit disappeared. http://www.globegazette.com/articles...c059471829.txt |

That is sad that it turned out to be a false lead but at least it got her case in the national spotlight once again. Maybe that will lead to some new info.

Was there a different reporter who disappeared? I just remember her Sex and the City dvds being stolen.

The victim, Jennifer Servo, worked at a TV station in Texas. She was murdered in her apartment in 2002. The case was profiled on AMW, not on UM. |
