The door to my CD drive on my computer occasionally ejects by itself for no explicable reason. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how can it be remedied?

Try updating the driver for your cd drive. Next thing is check in your hardware setup before you get to windows (hit insert) and see if fastgate A20 is off or on. Switch it to the opposite of what it is. If neither works it is possible that your cd rom is going bad.
Hope this helps.... |

how often is this happening? daily? hourly? - does it happen when you have a disk in the drive, or when it is empty, or does it matter?
what version of Windows are you using? is this a cd-rom, dvd, cdrw or other type drive? what cd-writing software do you have installed? do you have multimedia buttons on your keyboard? is there an eject button on there that could be "sticking"? |

It's Windows XP, I think. It hasn't happened today. Maybe it's fixed (I hope).
It's only the CD drive. The DVD drive works fine. It was happening whether the drive was empty or had a disk in it. But it seems to be O.K. now. Thanks for the assistance, guys. |
