Default What would you do if.....

Someone you knew online, asked what your last name was? But you've known this person for a few years.....cause I'm having that problem right now. There's this girl I ment online, who's 17, I met her on an American Juniors message board on AOL about 3 years ago.
I KNOW she's not a stalker or anything because I've talked to her on the phone many times before and she seems like she's 17, like she says she is.....but I can't give out my last name because it's still dangerous and I'm not suppose to!

Um, is your name an uncommon last name? Because my name is a common first name and a common last name. You can find a Janice Johnson anywhere. Maybe your name is not uncommon and only your family has that last name. it depends on how common or uncommon your last name is.

I'd stop talking to that person right away, doesn't seem really safe to talk to someone who wants personal information, she might be a phisher or worse.

If you've talked to her on the phone, do your parents know?

No....I talk to her on my cell phone. If my parents knew, I'd be grounded for life.

A phisher is someone who gets your information from websites and then steals your identity and takes money out of your bank accounts. It's easy to fall for a phisher because the put up real-looking fake links in your email to banks and stuff like that. It might say something like,"GirlMeetsWorld!" You forgot to make a Bank Of America bank payment! Open now! " When you open it, they ask you for your bank account number and Pin Number, and if you give it to them, they will take your money out of your bank and ruin your credit report............ These people are scammers, and to be safe, you need to personally type in the link to BOA(because you will go to a real BOA website), and not follow the link they give you......................
