I also have a DVD recorder. I am in the process of recording Mama's Family from TBS because I am sick of waiting for a DVD release. I also record Betty White's television appearances on various shows.

I have a DVD recorder, but the quality isn't the best (no problems with sound, etc)...the colors are a little dark...I have no idea how to fix this. So I don't do much recording...Only Gilmore Girls so far. I plan to eventually give away my homemade GG DVDs to somebody else who can appreciate them, because I will have season 6 on DVD when it comes out (I already have the other five).

I did with Star Trek: The Next Generation. The dvd's are way too expensive so I recorded them onto dvd myself. Pain in the but but now I have all the episodes to watch over and over.

I make my own DVDs. TMPGEnc's DVD Author is the easiest software I've used. It's way easier than the other software.

I created DVDs with menus for The Rockford Files. I can't wait for another 2 years for all the DVDs to come out.

I have 4 DVD recorders and a burner on the computer. But discs are so cheap now that if something comes out legitimately, I chuck the discs and buy the set.

I made my own set of all five seasons of TZ as it was $100 per set. Way too damn expensive for me so I rented each set for $4 each and burned them. DVD+CSS Region Free is a very handy tool as it removes all region encoding and copy protection

I as well have a DVDR and have made a ton of sets. I have made more from VHS then I have from the TV. I only do it on ones that I don't think will ever be released or from Tapes I got in a trade.

I cram about 20 episodes onto one disc (SEP Mode/ 10hrs) because the picture quality doesn't really matter to me....

I also have a DVDR and record THE AMAZING RACE since we're always at my parents house when it's on, and we're always having dinner at that hour, and I also record MY NAME IS EARL. Hopefully, what I'm doing now will allow me to record off of cable TV, then I can record some of the movies off of TCM (the only good movie channel anymore) and some shows on THE HISTORY CHANNEL.
