Just look at the views in relation to posts. Normally at least a 10/1 ratio and usually closer to 20/1, if not much higher. Sometimes approaching 50 or 60/1.
That's remarkable no-opinion. Big league hesitant. When I log in late at night Pacific time, very frequently I'll see the views column of a thread ping pong by 20 or 30 or more in a short period, without any change to the number of replies. Even if your opinion is mostly mediocre and coupled with a bizarre user name, let's hear from some of you, even if it's only to wish crystaldawn her latest Happy Birthday The water is fine. I won't bite, unless you disregard the Richard McCoy connection. |

Don't you find it ironic Awsi that you're asking these lurkers to come forward and post to this thread when if I'm not mistaken the definition of a lurker is someone who reads but doesn't post. Just thought I'd point that out.
A few comments though, I too noticed how many views threads have. I guess I never really thought about it being low compared to how many posts the thread has so its a good observation on your part. Also don't forget sometimes the views are from those of us who have posted to a thread and someone posts on it as well and we get email notification (if you have it set up to do that) so we go back and check out what the latest person has posted. I think we'd be suprised how many people out there read our board who aren't members. When I made my UM dvd available a number of people joined up and sent me a pm me to ask for a copy. Some of them even said they had been reading our board for years and just now joined up. Its always nice to see new people join up and post.

I admit that I lurk at times. That is if you can be a lurker as well as a poster.
No harm though, it ain't hurting anyone.

I will admit I was one of these so-called "lurkers" for years, but I'm now up to about 35 posts and counting after joining the boards on April 11, 2006. I guess the reason I didn't sign up earlier was because I was worried my posts/opinions would get totally bashed, and I've seen it happen on other boards and in real life. Thankfully though, I haven't run into that here.

I usually lurk the Everglades until I found this board. It's a great change from swamps, snakes, and alligators.
