Ok, I found the article that Trishalla referenced to. I had always maintained that if ERIC MONTE, THE CREATOR was noted as saying GOOD TIMES WAS NOT A SPIN-OFF, then I would throw in the towel and admit I was wrong....WELL GUESS WHAT???? I AM WRONG....HERE IS THE PROOF:

Like I said, Solomon and Trishalla really did their homework on this debate. They came out with guns blazing. With all that said, I still contest that GT was a spinoff. Florida Evans is still Florida Evans. The sitcom was not originally supposed to be a spinoff, but was made in to one.
