this question is for anyone who has kids around my age (14) or has kids older. it's about group dates. well not really dates, but you get what i mean.
my girlfriend asked me if i wanted to go to the movies with her and her friends, but i asked my mom and she said that a 14 year old shouldn't be going to the movies with their girlfriend/boyfriend without parents around. and my mom's friend doesn't let her kids go on dates at all, not until they are 18. yet i have friends whose parents allow them to be dropped off at the movies or mall, and picked up at a certain time that is decided before. so, what is/was your rule for your kids concerning going to the movies/mall, or anywhere else with their boyfriends/girlfriends, or friends? and to any adults without kids, what do you think your rules would be? |

18? that's a little harsh.
anyway, my parents don't let me date unless it's a group date. |

I think 18 is strict, I think 15 is appropriate for dates.

I think the right time is about 14. They've just started high school and they need freedom. My parents barely let me go out at all. :\
meh. I know this was for parents but oh well... |

My son is 15 and he's went to the movies & the mall with a group, he says its
better in case you run out of things to talk about but you risk losing the girl you like to one of your friends. But he still prefers the group date so far. |

I met my girlfriend at the skating rink before without parents present when I was about that age, maybe a year younger. My mom wasn't sure of it at first, but finally let me go after I begged here and talking to my aunt. I don't know why parents are so paranoid about stuff like that... Maybe they just don't want to let go.
