User Insubordination

So that this is clear-

As many of you know, we at Sitcoms try to work things out- as best we can
As traders, as moderators.
We have the system set up in a sort of check and balance system for that very fact.
There is not One moderator, there are several - and they don't modeartor many boards, but usually one specific to allow more attention to certain areas.

And when a user comes into question, we try to research, investigate nad aquire whatever information we can.

From time to time, things don't work out- and Bad Trader feedback is given, at times, Traders are added to a list- to make new users aware of previous issues that have not been resolved.
And sometimes, traders can work things out, and repair their reputation.
Sometimes not. A lot of it comes down to choices.

A few weeks ago, a user was left negative feedback by a handful of members.
The account was Sheri220
And I personally, contacted her both by phone and email to try to resolve things.
Due to outstnading negative feedback, even in the light of a few good traders, with postiive feedback -the account was banned temporarily, with her having the understanding issues needed to be resolved- and concluded.

Now, when a user is banned
It is meant from this site- and this means the USER is banned.
Not the user name. Not that email, that USER

It has come to my attention, that her friendship with another user online here, under the name of CoachJones, was used to gain her access to the site-
Not only for trades, but as well sales were involved.
Another thorough investigation was done - and at the end ofit- led to me simply calling and asking- and at first the claim was denied, but after I offered some points of proof, she then recanted admitting she lied, and admitting the choice.
This, of course is insubordination.

So just in case there is any confusion.
Just in case for some reason, something that is to me simple- is not so simple I am stating this

When you , or another is banned if it has come to that-
YOU, yourself are banned.
This does not mean, go get another email
Another user name.
This does not mean, please go get yourself a new account and come back on under our noses.
This does not mean, find your friends and ask them to add you, or allow you access to their account so that you can go back to what you were going originally.
And should this behaviour be investigated and proven, you not only secure your banning, but risk your "friends" account, and more damage to your reputation and character.

I am a moderator, not a babysitter- and cases like this simply annoy me. And quite honestly waste my time.

If for whatever reason, your behaviour has gotten you to the point we have no alternative but to suspend or ban you- this decision is to be respected.
You don't have to change your ways, you can go along and do what you want on another site.
But there is ONE owner here, and when his decision is made, if you disagree with the decision the way to handle it, is to contact him and debate it, discuss it, and eventually live with it.

Using people for access, setting up shill accounts- only re-affirms the original decision was the right one.

Default personally

Personally to add one other thing- I don't even know why this was an issue.
When the final decision was made, Sheri220 told me herself, she was FINE with not being online here or associated with Sitcoms-
She told me she was relieved and had no problem with it.
Early on during one of the threads, she even stated she wanted to delete her account- and get away from trading and selling

So why she said all that- and then used another person to stay in contact with traders or sales contacts, goes against everything she said previously

Then again after all that was said, Honesty wasn't her best policy apparently.

Anyhow, my post still comes down to this.

If your banned, it is YOU. If you disgaree with that choice handle it like an adult and contact me, another moderator, the owner and discuss it.
Don't sneak around like a 14 year old having his first beer.
Your only insulting your own character, and your own reputation.

Default i just dont understand

i am at a loss here

i have never dealt with coachjones before--- BUT i have heard he was a solid good guy, who has just shot his reputation and most likely his account on this site, for nothing! BUT i guess he got talked into it somehow.......

what i dont understand is this---- IF A BANNED TRADER on the BAD TRADER LIST emailed me and asked me to work as a "BEARD" for them to make some $$$$$$$$$

not for 1 second would i even consider it--- never ever ever ever

its just plain stupid, and apparently in this situation it was painfully obvious

i mean, there ARE other boards in the world besides this one---- if u have been banned and listed as a bad trader here--- WHY IN THE WORLD would you hang around and stay involved????

i just dont get it, is there some spell cast over people that makes them do stupid things for banned members?

Default PS

I hope this serves as a warning to others

Because WE ALL KNOW FOR A FACT
that people who are banned

ALWAYSSSSSSSSS try to come back

sue maples, twoonia, turpa, etc

THEY JUST CANT LET GO and move on, so they come back with fake names, fake emails, and now I guess there is a new twist

so I honestly HOPE that this teaches others here

NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU MIGHT LIKE A BAD TRADER or a BANNED MEMBER, lying, deceiving and sneaking around for them, is NOT the way to help them out!

All banned members can appeal the decision directly to TJ and if he says NO, then its his board. He pays the bills, he runs the show and his word is law. There are 1000s of boards out here (look how people like Wolf11 have moved on and started fresh) so if you are told to GO AWAY, then please, just go....

Agreed. I think I've traded with Coach Jones before (I'm pretty sure, but can't remember for certain) but as you said, Lamont, that tarnishes one's reputation if you help a user continue to trade & sell on a site they've been banned from.

Default not only that.....

BUTTTTT

it casts a doubt on the person for a long time

and makes people question their integrity and wonder if they are being honest with you or lying to you

i mean, if a person publicly lies to the ENTIRE BOARD and helps bring back a board member who the board has expressed is not welcome with bad trader posts, bad trader lists and banning by the owner, it makes one wonder

that is why the SMART thing would be to be honest and tell anyone who asks you to do that

MY ACCOUNT IS NOT WORTH losing and getting banned over you

just lamonts 2 cents worth

Default Rules and board regulations

What it comes down to is this- I hold no disrespect for Coach Jones-
Matter of fact, I haven't heard any complaints about him

And if he is such good friends with Sheri he wants to help her out, that is even admirable.

But, the simple fact is he is a user on this site- and there are rules.
As far as I know, he was aware she was banned-therefore by helping her he was going against the rules applied in this case.

Does that make you a horrible person? No not at all.
I tink its great he wants to help a friend out, but not in the cost of making yourself an exception to the rules here.

He doesn't have to agree with the choices that was made to ban her.
He doesn't have to not trade her, or not talk to her.
But allowing her access basically, through him defeats the purpose of banning a user which complicates our situation, and quite simply is unfair to other users.

He is more than able and more than welcome to host her items and help her sales on another board, at his choosing.
But the choice was made here, that her items and trading wasn't allowed- in the VERY least until her other issues were resolved and I know for a fact one is still outstanding.

I hate being the heavyweight here, but what is the point of investigating a situation, dicussing it- and taking perosnal time to come to a conclusion, if the consequence of that conclusion is overturned by a "friend"

Kinda makes rules pointless.

This is the same Sheri who swore she doesn't lie, she never uses anyone and it's all a misunderstanding. It's Loren who was lying and she is the innocent dupe. Yea, and King Kong is really a mouse with a lot of fur.

Thumbs down LYING is NEVER Honorable

Well it really burns my butt on this one

because, if you want to help someone, great

BUT lying to this board and deceiving the board members here is NOT admirable at all

ALSO its not just giving access to someone, BUT from what I have been told, it is ARRANGING SALES FOR this person, and acting as the middle man

that violates SEVERAL RULES of the board and is really not cool

now the coach and i have no issues and he might or might not be a great guy or great trader

BUT I can say that he knowingly tried to trick this board to help a banned member stay active here and tried to arrange sales for her and tried to keep on selling to people for her and that is just baddddddddd

Exclamation i also hope

that there are repercussions on this situation

because if not, then my worry is that more banned members
will find "friends" to allow them to use their accounts and try to get back again

the last thing we need is a bunch of other banned members finding new covers with other members, and lurking and sneaking and infecting the trading post

Unfortunately for Coach Jones, I have to agree. As Savage said,

"what is the point of investigating a situation, dicussing it- and taking perosnal time to come to a conclusion, if the consequence of that conclusion is overturned by a "friend"

It's unfortunate for him, since he is considered a good trader. But I would think it's only common sense to think it's not a good idea to help a banned trader continue to trade on the site they were banned from.
