Default Would you say that Florence emerged as the star of this show?

She got her own spinoff and her chemistry with George was what made the show so funny.

Most def. When she left to do her own thing and had that latin maid, it wasn't the same. I mean, once you get used to a character/person, you can't just trade them in for another model. Florence was a huge co-star...her character just didn't work without George and at times Louise.

Seeing Marla with George on the Surreal Life, even though it was a short moment, their going back and forth like Florence and George just brought back memories. Nothing like it will ever compare.

Even though Florence was hilarious as hell, I still think George was the star.

That's an excellent point about Florence, once she left, the show was definitely missing something. There wasn't that same fire out of George.

That's when the show really jumped the shark because for a second, it was no FLORENCE or Bentley

She was very important to the show and when she left it was not the same. But I still think George was the star of the show.

If Checking In had become a hit I wonder how long The Jeffersons would have last without Florence?

Yes, I think she made the show funny, her and George feed off of each other. When she left he show wasn't funny anymore, kinda like when John left GT, something was missing.

I'm saying that when she left that energy was gone, the show wasn't the same.

exactly. i mean, i would watch the jeffersons and it was such a letdown. I mean, it's like expecting a brand new car and getting a ten year old used car.

I didn't care for her replacement. I wonder how the rest of the audience would have accepted her?

I can't believe you posted this...How can you compare that maid with Florence? They had lightening in a bottle with Florence...she was damn lucky to be soooo good that she was able to come back and allow the jeffersons to continue and last longer than it would have with that other lady. The viewers weren't too keen abt Flo's replacement.
