"Night Moves," Bob Seger ("Out in the back seat of my '60 Chevy.") Two Billy Joel songs - "Captain Jack" ("your brand new Chevrolet") and "Movin' Out (Anthony's Song)" ("He's trading in his Chevy for a Cadillac.") "Neutron Dance," the Pointer Sisters ("Someone stole my brand new Chevrolet.") "Little Red Corvette," Prince (Hey, it's a Chevrolet!) And. . . Chevy Van
~Sammy Kershaw I gave a girl a ride in my wagon she crawled in and took control She was tired as her mind was a draggin' I said get some sleep--and dream of rock n roll cause like a princess she was laying there moonlight dancing off her hair She woke up and took me by the hand She's gonna love me in my Chevy van And that's all right with me Her young face was like that of an angel her long legs were tanned and brown Better keep your eyes on the road son Better slow this vehicle down 'cause like a princess she was laying there moonlight dancing off her hair She woke up and took me by the hand She's gonna love me in my Chevy van And that's all right with me I put her out in a town that was so small You could throw a rock from end to end A dirt road main street, she walked off in barefeet it's a shame I won't be passin' through again 'cause like a princess she was laying there moonlight dancing off her hair She woke up and took me by the hand We made love in my Chevy van And that's all right with me 'cause like a princess she was laying there moonlight dancing off her hair She woke up and took me by the hand We made love my in my Chevy van And that's all right with me 'cause like a princess she was laying there moonlight dancing off her hair She woke up and took me by the hand we made love in my Chevy van... |

"Chevy Van. . . " I hated that song.
![]() I forgot Jackson Browne's "The Road And The Sky" - it came from his Late For the Sky album, which featured a '50's-vintage Chevy on the cover!

I know, I was going to start a thread on songs mentioning VW's, but why waste a thread on two songs?

"Alice Restaurant" by Arlo Guthrie and "The Angel" by Bruce Springsteen. Both mention Microbuses. Here's another song mentioning a Chevrolet - "Beach Baby" by First Class.

Oh yeah, here's another song mentioning a VW Microbus. . . .
Men At Work's "Down Under" starts with the line "Travelling in a fried-up Kombi." A Kombi is a Microbus that can haul passengers and cargo. It's a "combination" van, or "Kombi" for short in German. The fried-up reference is Australian English that means the VW has seen better days.
