One of my last good VCR's just crapped out and I have decided that since I am transfering my old tapes to DVD I might as well get a good 6 head VCR for this. Anyone know where I can get a high quality 6 head VCR for a decent (cheap?) price? Thanks.

Hello:
I am a LOVER of old VCR's... I am by no means an expert on VCR's and VCR repair, although I do fool around with it. It's true that 6 head VCR's were always the high end equipment, and I agree with you completely that 6 Head Vcr's are treasure's out of the past, but I do know that the REAL REAL REAL old VCR's from the 1975 1976 Era, when they first came out were and still are THE BEST, because they do not have, (and I mean simply do not contain ) the logic board that interprets the AutoMatic Gain Control.. VHS tapes both the latest ones or the oldest of the old LOOK BEAUTIFUL.. If the current generation could see how nice an old RCA SELECTRA-VISION VCR -with the 13-Channel VHF frequency dial on the front made their tapes look, they would be screaming for one, but of course we are now in a DVD world... DVD doesn't suffer or benefit one way or the other from that problem... I hope you find a good one, never leave a VCR sitting in your car, the motion of the vehicle going over bumps, knocks the VCR's gear ALL OUT oF Alignment. Your SITCOMS ONLINE BUDDY is Donny-Dawg
