Come-and-Go Online Friendships - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

What is your personal belief on online friendships that come and go? Are you more of a laidback person knowing that you are confident an online friend won't forget you because you know in your heart you will converge? Or, are you more of a person who panics if an online friend may have forgotten about you or gotten bored? I am talking about ALL friendships: casual, close, or best online friends.

In my heart, I do have a positive vibe that if a friend I consider close is being quite casual, relaxed, and laidback, then they won't forget me, I guess. It is not easy because my brain starts getting paranoid and going 1000mph, so to speak, on endlessly thinking of a plethora of different reasons. It's very hard for someone like me who is VERY impatient. All in all, I do know somewhere deep down, it shouldn't be that big of a deal for me, if I truly believe in this, right?

Share experiences, please....

I am more laid back. I realize that sometimes circumstances will pull people apart. Whether they are online friends or friends that I meet offline.

I have a friend from Sweden that I met via an online parents group. About 4 years ago she came to Florida and we got together and met in person. It was very cool and we still keep in touch.

I have another friend that lives in Oregon. Our children are the same age. We exchange Christmas and birthday cards. She is a very special friend. She was diagnosed with Non-Hodgekins lymphomia shortly after her daughter was born. She received a transplant and is now cancer free. We are planning to meet in a few months.

Some of my closest and more enduring friendships are those I have met online.

Over time, i've learned to be more laid back about them. I think that's why some of my online friendships have lasted longer.
