it was about a millionare who was a bachelor and living with his neice. And they had an oriental butler. That's all I know about it; I'm sure someone else here-like TV KNOWLEDGE FAN-can answer your other questions, and give you specifics about it.

Oh, yes, two more things-it was on in the late 50s sometime (I think) and I think was on ABC.

BACHELOR FATHER aired on CBS (1957-1959), NBC (1959-1961), and ABC (1961-1962), making it one of the few series to air first-run episodes on all
three networks. It starred John Forsythe (later of DYNASTY fame) as Bentley
Gregg, a wealthy and successful Hollywood attorney; Noreen Corcoran as his
niece Kelly; and Sammee Tong as houseboy Peter Tong.

Default As the original pilot episode....

...that aired on "GENERAL ELECTRIC THEATER" on CBS {"A New Girl In His Life", May 1957} unfolded, Bentley Gregg, a somewhat well-to-do L.A. attorney [his name is an amalgam of two famous real-life Hollywood lawyers],
suddenly finds himself the legal guardian of his teenage niece Kelly after her parents were killed in an automobile accident. The situation (and series that followed) dealt with raising his new "daughter", while trying to live the life of a successful eligible bachelor and noted lawyer AND put up with his Chinese "houseboy", Peter. Plain and simple....and it was a moderate success
{MCA-TV, the co-producer (with "Bachelor Productions"), managed to place the show on all three TV networks during its five year run- John Forsythe owned a piece of the show, and made him a lot of money!}. It also had the support of primary sponsor American Tobacco {Hit Parade, Tareyton cigarettes} for all five seasons.
