Arrow People who go through the express lane with over 10 items

Are they math majors who can't read or English majors who can't count? Or fine arts majors who can't do either one?

Seriously, people who go through the express lane with far more than 10 items is such a pet peeve of mine. I think they are so inconsiderate. I must admit though, if I have one or two items over the limit and the regular lines are long, I'll go through the express lane if there's no line. I think it's very frustrating to have a small amount of items and get stuck behind someone with an overflowing cart.

I don't mind if it's just a couple of items over, but I hate when people have a cart FULL of stuff and do it.

Actually, what I hate more is when people go through the "Self Check" line with a cart full of stuff like that. I go through there when I have just a couple of items and want to scan it quickly. It annoys me when someone takes like 15 minutes in that line because they keep having issues, considering the fact that those lines aren't MADE for people who have an entire cart full of stuff. What makes it even worse is when it's some buffoon who has NO idea how to use the thing.

LOL...funny choices.

Yeah, if you have 25 items, I don't care how small they are, go wait in another line! Impatience is not an excuse.

Oh yes! People do that at Wal-Mart all the time! I want to inform them that there's this unspoken rule that those self-checkouts are also 10 items and under. And NOT for idiots.

FOR REAL!! What annoys me is that usually, you can only scan so many things before the belt reaches the 'limit' at the end and you have to bag that stuff before you can scan anything else. It stops the ENTIRE process, and I get pretty pissed off when I'm standing behind a bunch of fools who end up stopping it 3 or 4 times to go empty that thing because there's so much stuff. What annoys me about it even MORE is if I'm standing there with one item, and every line is full and I think the self check will be quick, and instead I'm standing there for 10 minutes waiting for them.

In my mind, sometimes I take whatever item I have and clock the person in the back of the head with it. That always makes me feel better.

I don't bother with the self-checkouts. Do I get to pay myself for using them? I'd rather have a live human being ring up my groceries. We are losing too many jobs to computerization.

I only use them when I have a couple things and want to get out of the store. The ones at Wal-Mart are so picky that it's aggrivating. If it doesn't weigh much, the sensor that the bags sit on (so I guess it can tell you didn't pocket it...who knows why that makes sense...) doesn't pick it up, and then you can't scan your next item. So then a human has to come over and fix the machine. Argh.

And ...I've thought of the fact that I'm not getting paid to do this too.

Nothing less than 10 years in the federal PMITA prison would be acceptable.

Theyre just plain ignorant. I hate when Im on express and someone with 30+ items comes and asks if they can come through my express lane since all the other regular lines are busy. Then all at once it seems everyone with 1 or 2 items comes behind them and gets pissed. I hate that they thing just because I have no one in my line for about 1 minute they can come through my line. Gotta love the people too with a full cart and then at the end go "Oh!! This was express??? I just saw the sign." Riiiiight. /bitter cashier

SELF CHECKOUTS ARE THE WORST. I love them, but I also know how to use them. It attracts the stupid people who dont know what theyre doing. They think theyre saving time because God forbid they have to stand in a line with 2 other people. Then they start yelling and swearing at it because it messes up and 20 minutes later theyre done.

I wrote a reply in this thread yesterday, but I accidentally closed the window right before I hit "submit." I was sooooo annoyed and angry I didn't even wanna re-type it all, but I will try and remember what I wanted to say verbatim.

I would rather call these people more "ignorant" than stubborn. It really isn't fair if someone really does have close to 10 items and want to hurry to pay and leave.

what abt the people who have a mega cart full of s**t and just when you think they are done here comes their kids with more stuff that they grabbed at the last minute!!!????? Then they pull out their checkbook AFTER the cashier tells them the total...%$#@!!!!*&#!

BTW Sweadace: when you are typing a long post, it's best to do it as if you were going to email it, than just copy and paste it here. that way if it doesn't submit, you at least still have your "post" on your write mail page and can just submit it again. I do that when I have long posts.

I hate when people do that. The sign 10 items or less is there for a reason.
