I think I would have liked it better if the show had her go blind the way she did in real life. The effects of scarlet fever lying dormant for years until rapid sight lost at age 15 is kind of fakey. Technically it could happen I guess. (I've heard of a real life case where someone had a previous condition but lost her sight rapidly later on.) And I do like the actual episode.
