Cool Shows you didn't understand why they weren't more popular or why they were so hated.

This is in response to Irene's thread about shows that you never understood what all the hoopla was about. What shows do you think should have been more popular or were often unfairly criticized? Here are a couple of mine...

Wings- I could never understand the criticism towards this show. It's always been a favorite of mine. It's often referred to as a bad Cheers rip-off, but I think both shows are great in their own way. I like it a heck of a lot more than I like some of the popular megahits uot there.

Two Guys and a Girl- OK, it wasn't a great show, but I still think it was funny and could have been more popular. It was written off as a bad Friends clone, but I think it's far more enjoyable than that overrated Friends.

Becker- Again, not a classic, but still a fun show to watch. It's better than just about anything else that passes for comedy these days.

Futurama- Nowhere near as good as The Simpsons (What is?) but certainly deserved much better treatment from FOX.

Scrubs- Are NBC and the awards show judges the only people who hate this show?

Titus and Norm- 2 of my favorite Underrated shows. I agree with you about 2 Guys And A Girl. That show was much more entertaining to me than Friends. I can't believe ABC Burried it on a Friday night during its last season. Another show I really enjoyed was Grounded For Life but it never was that big of a hit.

Cosby was a pretty good show. I always liked Madeline Kahn.

I absolutely agree with you on these two shows. I thought both shows were hysterical.

I also enjoyed Joey a lot.

I agree with you.

I Love Futurama and only like The Simpsons. The Simpsons was great when I was younger, but I've just lost interest in it (though I will see the movie).

NewsRadio - I don't get why this show wasn't always in the top 10. It was always funny. Luckily the DVD sales are good and I'll get the entire series in my collection. But I still wish it had been a more mainstream hit. I'm glad at least that the critics liked the show. I blame NBC for the low ratings. They moved it around too much. Just as it was starting to build in the ratings, they moved it to Wednesdays, which totally ruined the ratings for it. Its a miracle, the show lasted two more seasons after that. Like the creator of the show, Paul Simms said about NewsRadio "It's the longest running failure in network history." lol

I liked "My Mother the Car" (though I've only seen it once in a TVLand marathon). I went to a museum and saw the actual car.

I can understand some of those but not Married With Children. It was on 11 years some people must have liked it. I don't know much about it outside the ratings but I guess critics did not like it, is that right?

Critics didn't like it and it was not a highly rated show

hmm, that is surprising. I assumed that since it was on so long it is popular. I guess that is why the DVD's are not selling that well.
