Default DVD Themetune Cut?

I only have Season 2 but noticed none of the episodes had this, http://www.sitcomsonline.com/videocl...ldengirls2.mpg theme tune and I read that was used randomly during Season 1-4 on short episodes - yet I didn't see a single one during Season 2. Is it because it was done by the network not the show, or it wasn't originally produced that way or was it cut?

This was only used in syndication.

Whats on the DVD is the actual theme, originally aired.

Actually the one thats usually used in syndication is the short one that lasts only 20 seconds, lifetime uses this one for most of there episodes, the longest one is used in syndication for very few episodes, there is a small handfull of episodes where lifetime used the longest version with their episodes.

In Season 5 I relazied that the Theme song had some different open photos. When they do Blanche(Rue) She is now in a Gold dress, unlike Season 1 when she had the mink coat on. Also Sophia(estelle Getty). Her photo is now in the pink sweater(which I still can't find what episode that picture of Sophia.) Also it shows a picture of the girls by the panio. The panio is from Season 2, and thats when they're all singing "Mami Is Nice so I'll say it Twice..." So I think it's cool how Buena Vista is putting New Photos in to the Theme song.

I'm glad that the theme and opening credits to the series are shown intact and as they were originally broadcast on the DVDs, as I was so tired of watching the butchered and recycled Lifetime openings over and over again!!!

That's how it originally aired. I think they changed the opening credits in either Season 4 or 5.

The theme song as it appears on the DVDs (including the various photo changes through the years) is exactly how it aired during the series run on NBC. I know what everyone means by how Lifetime usually goes with the "short theme" (deleting the "...and if you threw a party..." part of the song), occasionally goes with the original theme and on those rare occasions with the "extended opening" (which is my favorite, because they add some really cool scenes that fit in perfectly with the extended music bridge and the repeated "... and if you threw a party..." line). In syndication you can always tell when they go with the shortened theme because you won't see the plane coming in for a landing before they do the title shot with the Miami skyline (which BTW was a totally different skyline shot during season 1, which you can see on the Season 1 DVD set after disappearing from TV altogether for years).

GoldenGirlsFan92, I FINALLY found out what episode Sophia's credit from seasons 5-7 opening is from!

It is from the season 4 episode "The Auction", when they were gonna buy a painting and sell it to make enough money to clean their roof. In the early 4:00AM kitchen scene everyone goes into the kitchen coz they cant sleep and they all admit that they feel guilty about what they're going to do, than Sophia tells a story "Picture it, Sicily, 19 something", well while she is telling her story, you can definetely notice that her seasons 5-7 credit is in that shot of her. Hope this helps
