I wanted to see scenes in Julio's home with him in there - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

This was a mistake by the writers for not showing scenes in his home. I wanted to see if Julio's lifestyle was true to what Fred was putting him down for.

Julio must've lived in a mansion because Fred and Lamont were able to turn it into a boarding house.

The house did look like a mansion, but looked at Julio himself and the way he dressed. He didn't seem that much better off than the Sanfords. He made references about not having any money at times.

Maybe Julio only rented out part of the house for himself and once he left, the Sanfords bought the whole house.

No they weren't on a date, they went to the restarunt to spy on lamont and julio's sister
