Default The Casting Director for Jeffersons made the decision for Isabel Sanfordn very easy

Jeffersons? I was watching Fox's Truth Behind the Sitcoms and Isabel did not want to do the Jeffersons at all so she said this is what the casting director said to her

"They are really serious about doing this spinoff and they are going to get someone else to play louise Jefferson and write off the character on All in the Family so what do you want to do?

LOL-I guess Isabel knew at the time that if she wante to continue to eat, that she better do the new spinoff

Smart move by Isabelle to take the role. I just can't see anybody else playing "Weezie."

The funny thing is she was saying "I want to stay on All in the Family" but since she was married to George it was no way for that to happen-lol

I can understand her feelings, because All In The Family was a hit show and if the Jeffersons failed, she would be out of a job. Charlotte Rae of the Facts of Life actually put it in her contract that if FOL failed, she would be allowed to return to Diff'rent Strokes.

Well that's why the choice was easy in 1974

"Isabel if you don't go to the Jeffersons and stay on All in the Family you will be out of job"

If you do the Jeffersons and it fails you will be out of job,

I say take it a shot at it-lol

If the Jeffersons did indeed fail (lucky for us it did not), they could have always brought George, Louise and Lionel back on AITF. These TV shows hardly care about consistancy. They could have written that The Jeffersons moved back next door to the Bunkers by saying that George's stores went out of business. They could have then continued on as if they had never moved.

I think that would've been way too depressing for a sitcom. lol

But it would have really been no way for them to returned to All in the Family because they had already gave up their HOUSE-lol

If I'm not mistaken, The Jeffersons only subletted their house to Mike and Gloria, so George still was the owner. He could've moved back if he needed to.
