Hi everyone.
IF you love TV Theme Songs, you're gonna love THIS. I'm working with the great Mr. Earle Hagen, who wrote the theme songs from TDVDS, Andy Griffith (that's Earle whistling too!), Mod Squad, I Spy, Gomer Pyle and many others. We're going to make these themes legally available for download at www.dickvandykeshow.com and probably another new site just for TV Themes. BEST OF ALL....we'll also make them available as RINGTONES for your cellphone !! hopefully along with choice snippets of dialogue. Can't you just imagine your phone ringing with "Ohhhh....Robbbbbb!" Because we want to use the original recordings that you all know so well, the great musicians who played in those sessions will have to be paid - so the downloads will probably have a nominal charge like 99 cents or something, with a part of that going to Mr. Hagen as well. But they'll be 100% legal and the best quality. Whaddya think???? OH - ps. if you have a newer PDA/Phone that runs Windows Mobile, you can use ANY music in the .wma format as a ringtone as long as it's saved in the /windows folder. and it MUST be .wma so if you have an mp3 you've got to convert it. OUR downloads will already be in the proper format for all types of cellphones. Doug |

I will be happy to pay for the legal downloads, Doug. I am a firm believer in copyright laws! Let us know when it is up and running! Make it sooner rather than later, ok!

That's great news! Thanks for the heads up. I'm looking forward to adding a TDVDS ringtone to my cell phone.

Hi, Doug! Just wondering how you guys are progressing on getting the theme songs and ringtones on your website. I just ordered a new phone today, which should arrive by Tues or Wed. and I want immediately to download my TDVDS Theme song ringtone!!! I want my relationship with my new phone to start off right!!! I am so excited that you are doing this!

congrats on the new phone.
Mr. Hagen's nice lawyer (yes, there ARE nice lawyers) and I are just finalizing some of the contractual issues. then we can proceed. We're probably going to start with Verizon Wireless first because they're way ahead on the high speed VIDEO network - I hope that's YOUR carrier (mine is T-mobile) but if you have a PDA phone which can use an mp3 or Windows Media file as a ringtone that will work sooner. my phone is a t-mobile MDA - very cool even though it's not video-ready yet. We're starting with the following thene songs: Dick Van Dyke Show Andy Griffith (okay trivia fans - who's that whistling the theme song?) Gomer Pyle USMC I Spy Mod Squad Danny Thomas and a few others. |

Lolac knows her stuff. And Earle says his 'whistler' is still in fine form!

...but "ringtones"? Well, he does own the publishing rights to his theme songs, and that should just about "take care" of him comfortably for the rest of his life, if they haven't already. Why not "ringtones"?

just working thru all the legal stuff with Mr. Hagen's very nice attorney, and the wireless carrier contracts and things like that. Things typiclaly drag on in the summer but hopefully right after Labor Day we'll be able to wrap it up and get things "on the air"
