Default Syndicated version of "I Candy" question...

This was on last night and if you've got the DVD, you can see that there's a changing of scenes when they go to the theater to watch "Population Zero". For some reason, they switch the scene where Doug and Deac get popcorn until AFTER Arthur tells his friend Lenny about the surprise ending of the movie. On the DVD you can clearly see that Doug and Deac get the popcorn FIRST, then they go to the scene of Kelly telling Carrie that Doug got a compliment from a waitress at Cooper's followed by Arthur's blabbing the movie ending in the theater, which then shows Doug and Deac walking into that same theater house.

In the syndicated version, they go to commercial and don't even show Doug and Deac in the theater or the part where Doug is all smiles during the movie preview. I understand they cut stuff out for syndication so they can run commercials, but why on earth did they need to switch the lobby and theater parts too? They could have put a commercial after Arthur gives away the ending without switching the sequence.

Anyone else notice this or am I insane today?

It's really just the way syndication works. Personally I would love to be able to watch full length KOQ episodes on TV, but that's not going to happen. One episode that I really noticed that they butchered in syndication was "Pregnant Pause" if you have Season 3 on DVD, you'll notice that they cut out a lot of dialogue and/or scenes on TV that were pretty funny.

I agree, syndication is goofy!! I think they could cut out different parts than they do, they mostly cut the really funny parts!

you're right, "Pregnant Pause" was really butchered! I like your location SpenceOlchin. I've been seein' some clever locations ,etc. lately, "Carrie Like Cake" I like it, it adds a little somethin' to the board.

Anyone notice in the first "Pregnant Pause" when Carrie goes into that baby store Holly is the clerk. I never realized that. I haven't seen the episode in a while!

Another thing that I noticed was in the Season 7 finale, when Doug and Carries neighbor Paul dies and they want to buy the house for a profit. They cut out the scene when Doug confronts Lou watering the plants, and cut from him talking to Carrie to her coming home. I don't get why they did that since I thought it was a pretty funny scene and was a valuable part of the plot and storyline of that episode. Just one of my quirks.

Yup. That was her first appearance on the show before she became Doug and Carries dog walker for Arthur.

Doug: "He's a grown man who needs walking and may possibly have fleas."

I did notice that too! About him confronting Lou. I thought while I was watching it that I zoned out for a while!

It sure was.

I like when Doug said "I'll divorce the crap out of you!" He said it with so much passion and energy that it came off real great.
