Default Tom Arnold as Arnie on Roseanne

Hey everyone,

I DVR Roseanne every night and watch it all the time! I am alittle confused about an episode I saw recently. It was the episode where the family decides to go to California and takes a trip cross country to there...Well they can't get tickets to The Price is Right so they get tickets to The Jackie Thomas Show (I think thats what its called) Anyway, Tom Arnold or Arnie turns out to be Jackie Thomas, and they don't make any mention that it was Arnie! Does anybody know why?? Does this post make sense anyway?

I was just really confused when I saw this.

When Roseanne was IN LOVE with her man Tom Arnold, he was made producer of the show (Roseanne) and had alot of input behind the scenes (much to the chagrin of alot of other people)...anyways, Tom Arnold had his own short-lived (very short-lived) show THE TOM ARNOLD SHOW. They incorporated that into the Roseanne show as a way to give it more publicity. It didn't matter that Tom had already been playing a character (Arnie)...the Roseanne characters weren't supposed to notice the RESEMBLANCE of the two guys...LOL

Irene your right but in real life it was called The Jackie Thomas Show and it aired mid-season right after Roseanne on ABC that year...however there was also to other shows called Tom (CBS 1994) and The Tom Show (The WB 1997) with him in it...

Anyways a little back story on The Jackie Thomas Show. It was a show with in a show where Jackie Thomas was an obnoxious actor who let fame get to his head and thought he handle the show so he took it over. It wasn't as successful as Roseanne but it had very good writing. Martin Mull also starred in it and that explains his absense from Roseanne at the time (his character was Leon Carp) Ive only seen one episode and Ive been looking for the rest of the series for awhile...

OMG...yes, you are correct. I was typing and had Tom Arnold in my head and even though I meant Jackie Thomas, I was typing Tom Arnold. Thanx for that correction.

Roseanne did remarry after Tom but they are divorced as well too. As far as I know she just has a boyfriend/not married. I think I read that in People a couple of years ago.

True. She had her short-lived reality show on ABC and she introduced us to a male friend SHE MET ON-LINE...but there is no man per se.

She also still gets along real well and for a mtter of fact still hangs out with her first husband Bill Pentland who played Freddie Meaker in The Episode Saturday in season 1
