hairstyle? This woman at my job came in with a new look and everyone has been talking to her about how good it looks and they know it looks like sh*T but I guess it's the polite thing to do-lol I haven;t complimented her at all i just said-"Oh you are changing on me with the new look" So do you feel like you have to compliment someone if they come in with a new look? I don;t-lol

I Don't Feel Pressured To Do That
Quote:
No, I don't feel pressured to compliment anybody at work for a new hairstyle and/or anything for that matter. If I come in with a new look; I don't expect others to compliment me but it's always nice to hear some remarks. |

Well, it is the polite thing to do. However, if I think it is a look that is bad for that person, it makes it very difficult to say something positive.

I don't feel the need to compliment but, like you did Soloman, at least say something so you acknowledge it, if it's good or bad. I think just saying nothing at all makes you come off as self-centered so I always say something.

That's a tough one. If you say you like the terrible hairstyle, she may continue to keep it that way. I guess I'd just say something cheery like, "Someone's got a new Spring hairstyle."
I don't offer my opinion unless I'm asked. I am honest when I give an opinion though. |

there's this girl in my classes at school who wears her hair a bunch of different ways, and she changes her clothes style too. she likes to reinvent herself but every time she does, everyone says "wow your hair looks so good!" or "that's a great look for you" even though i'm sure a lot of people don't mean it. i don't say anything unless i'm asked but nobody i know asks that kind of thing.

No, I don't feel pressured to compliment anyone.
I am not being mean or anything, but I don't normally compliment people on changed appearances unless it's a huge change or something in clothes or accessories. Not just hairdos. It's just not really me. I know that my supervisor does get a little hurt when I don't say anything whenever he gets a haircut. My other co-workers usually do, but he gets hurt. He then says in front of some of my co-workers, "She doesn't really say anything about my haircut." He said it recently about a month ago, and I straight-out told him, "I noticed, but I don't usually compliment too much on hairdos." I just say it like it is. I am not being mean. It's just part of my personality. |

I don't feel pressured. When I'm asked I don't want to say anything rude, so I might say "I've never seen anything like it before".
