Default What Ever Happend?

What ever happened to Mabel, why did she leave the show? Is she still alive? When Roger and Rerun had an apartment, where's Mama, I only see Surley.

Mabel King died a few years ago. She left the show because she was very unhappy with her role.

Wink Correct...

That is correct...
Mabel King (Mama Thomas on WH) passed from complications due to diabetes back in 1999, and she sadly lost her legs to this illness, way before she left the earth.

She was unhappy because her role was basically non-existant. Her role got smaller and smaller as time went on.

Sad

It's sad that her role got so small. I enjoyed seeing Mabel King. She had a good personality and I loved her interaction with the kids.

Is that right? The "Mama/Mabel" character was literally written out of the latter season of all WH scripts? Hmm... (wondering & questioning also)

She was never actually written out, her character was just away visiting or at work just in case there was a chance of her coming back to the show

I still think if there would have been a season four, she would have been brought back just like they did with Esther Rolle. King, like Rolle, stood her ground and voiced grievances about the storylines and such.
