Default Always read reviews of a hotel before booking it

Quote:
When I checked, they had change my room twice because the moldiness of the rooms was so intense that I could not breath and the phones did not work. Also, the rooms were not cleaned properly...

Worst experience ever. The motel needs to be rebuilt. Bugs, bugs, bugs. Not the standard Florida kind - these are bad. Spotted a rat or two as well. Mold and more mold, everywhere. What a waste of money.
yes i will be staying here(its in florida) for 2 weeks this summer. no refund.

Uh oh....guess you oughta remember your raid and mouse traps.

After seeing some report on Inside Edition, I started checking out tripadvisor.com for reviews. I've gotten lucky so far.

I saw that. They ended up having to have their entire house fumigated because the bugs came home with them. I was thinking they had to get new furniture and stuff too. What a nightmare.

I seen that. Awful I tell ya, just awful. They say when you come back from a trip, you must immediately throw all your clothes in the dryer and put it on the hottest heat available. Then go ahead and wash the clothes. The heat will kill any bugs.

I thought this thread was going to be abt hotels that had bad service (not that bugs or rats aren't bad). For example, last year we went to Seattle, Washington. On the way (we drove) I had made reservations at certain hotels. This one place stated "continental breakfast". You know, I was pissed when I found out it was a muffin and coffee. OH WOW!!!! REAL CONTINENTAL. So, anything that said continental, was cheesy. When the hotel said BREAKFAST, we got great breakfasts. I would think that the word CONTINENTAL would mean something great.

i'm going to see if we can get our money back. i think we were only charged for a few days so we wont be losing that much. hell i'd rather sleep in the car.

Bedbugs, gone for decades, are back. I've been reading a lot of articles and even saw a few segements on tv. They're as thin as a credit card and can live without food for up to a year. They go in furniture, pictures, you name it.

A few Boston college dorms got hit by bedbugs last Fall. Nasty stories.

They're almost impossible to get rid of because they go into the adjacent apartments.

Overseas travel is one of the reasons for their comeback.

It's definitely a good idea to check out any hotel you are planning on staying at, luckily there is a great deal of information online about most major hotels, anywhere in the world!
