That was joke By Elizabeth Montogomery. She said playing Serena was like opening "pandora's box" hence the name Pandora Spocks. Cute, huh?

Really??? wow...i too had noticed that the name sounded like "pandoras box"...but i wasn't sure what the relevance was. Thanx for the info!

it was because Liz thought it was so fun to play Serena, because she was so different from Samantha and she didn't want the audience to know she played both roles.

...Liz really didn't WANT credit for "portaying" Serena, beginning with that January 1966 episode, "And The There Were Three". And she still didn't when Serena began to appear more often (after 1968). So, that's when she hit upon the idea of the "Pandora Spocks" credit. That "answered" the viewers' question, "WHAT IS THE NAME OF THE ACTRESS WHO PLAYS SERENA?".
{ha-ha, that's who, Liz thought, a twinkle in her eye. let them figure out who she is!}, and she had her little joke!
