Default "The Benefit Show" had to be the worst...

...talent show I've ever seen. Raj and Dee couldn't sing at all. The only highlight was Dwayne playing the drums. What a horrible show. They were no Evanses that's for sure. lol

Yeah it's pretty bad but I think the episode where Rerun is day dreaming that he's different TV characters has to be the worst.

That may be the worst episode of any hit sitcom I've ever seen.

To me, that signaled that the writers were running out of ideas. Did you remember those crazy sets they used when they were spoofing other ABC shows? You have to realize also that 'The Benefit Show' was probably written as another filler episode as if the series was returning in the fall. What's Happening didn't employ two parters (except for the Dobbie Brothers episode) or continue storylines often.

Did you actually think they would use the REAL sets of those shows they were SPOOFING?-lol

I think that they were horrible and they could have done better. They could have used Raj and Reruns apartment setting and just rearrange the furniture and add furniture.

Ironically, this plotline has been used in various variations in many shows including Whats Happening Now when the famous rap group they promised was a lie and they all had to get on stage and freestyle. Remember how What's Happening in season one made a reference to how shows engage in this because it works.
