1 Hour Episodes - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Hi everyone,

I received the 4 DVD sets of Soap for Christmas last year and have just started Season 2 with the one hour episode. There was no indication on the package that the first episode of this season would be 1 hour, so I'm wondering if there are any other 1 hour episodes and where they are? I don't want to look for the info. on the net because I don't want to read any spoilers. Could anyone tell me where and if there are other one hour episodes? Thank you!

I'm pretty sure that all the rest of the episodes in season two are only a half hour long. The last episode of the third season and the first episode of the fourth season are the only other episodes that are an hour long.

P.S.
It doesn't make any sense to me that Soap would need an hour long episode because if it's an on going story that really never ends then couldn't they just continue in the next episode from right where they left off?

I dont remember a 1 Hour episode of Soap.

Actually, in the fourth season, ABC began airing one-hour episodes of Soap instead of half-hour episodes from January 1981 until the last episode. Not sure if these are hour-long on the DVD's, but they were hour-long form when first broadcast.
