getting the nurse phone number at the free clinic? I would have said-"Look Mrs, Thomas no disrespect but I'm not your son i just rent a room in your house so can you please let me get my MACK ON?-lol I thought it was so stupid for Mrs. Thomas to scream Gene's name like he was her son when he was trying to get the digits.

All that nonsense aside, though...

Whether Gene was a border or whatever, the fact that he was under Mama Thomas' roof made her believe that he was like a "second son" to her. It doesn't matter.
It's called motherly/maternal instinct. My mom would've done the same thing for my brother's friends when they were younger: she'd treat them all as if they were her own kids!
What's wrong with that? Nothing!
I think it's cute and cool.

The way this episode started though, it was very surprising that it turned out to be about Dee. It defintely looked like a Raj ep from the way it started.
