I try not to. I've had some lousy experiences through the years. I'd lend out nice clothes and get them back in lousy condition....or didn't get them back at all.
I lent a friend a nice pair of shoes once, not knowing she had extra-wide feet. I couldn't wear them and ended up giving them back to her to keep. Forget about books, CDs or DVDs - never get those things back. I buy what I want, and I don't want to borrow anything from anyone. |

Thankfully, nobody asks to borrow my clothes, I think that would be too weird. lol It really depends who the person is though. If it is someone I trust, I'll lend them dvd's or something like that. I never lend anyone money anymore. I have been burned several times with that. I would rather give someone money than lend it to them.

No, a lot of my friends have small chest so my shirts wouldn't fit them at the moment in the chest area. And I don't lend out my pants or jeans to anyone. I don't want my butt or any area in the same area that theirs been. I will lend them shoes and earrings things like that. I've let a friend of mine borrow my car for a week.

No, not anymore. I learned my lesson after being taken advantage of a few times.

I lend my tools out to friends. I'm pretty lenient when it comes to return times, but I do get annoyed when an item isn't returned after a while.

No, no never ever lend. I don't borrow either.
My freshman semester of college I loaned my new typewriter to a girl I had met in my dorm. We had been eating lunch together and hangin' out so I thought it would be okay. She spilled brown soda in my typewriter and gave it back to me without telling me. I got ready to use it and the keys were stuck together and the soda had dried up on the inside. Thankfully, I had purchased a warranty so I was able to have it replaced. But still...

Not anymore, and I never will again.
- In the early part of 1999, my sister's guy friend and I swapped our video game consoles. I borrowed his original Playstation (this was nearly two years before Playstation 2 came out) and he borrowed my Nintendo 64. We had each other's consoles for close to two months. When we returned our consoles to each other, I gave him all his games, his controller + his PSX. When he gave me my N64 back, he returned everything with it, EXCEPT two games!!!! I was PISSED. They were San Francisco Racing and Diddy Kong Racing. I never did get either one back. My sister's friend graduated from high school that spring, and I never saw him again. I have since long gotten a replacement copy of Diddy Kong Racing, but it's not the same. - I can't even trust my stepfamily -- my stepsisters and their friends -- with my own personal belongings when I leave them at my dad's house. I stopped doing that when I moved. In the process, I gathered up all my belongings, to discover that somebody had jacked a very important part from my N64 (this was a different one -- I have two N64s). It was the 8MB expansion pack that came with the console when I originally got the N64. I was SOOOOOOO pissed. I did get a replacement pack for it, but I was still very pissed. Never again.

Yeah, I lend things out quite a bit actually. I have trouble saying no to people. If I get the stuff back, it's usually after about a year or so.

It's funny how most people talk about how they don't lend stuff out because of lousy experiences, but how many people are the ones who haven't returned something to someone? Come on. Fess up.
![]() I really do not like to borrow things because then I obsess over the whole "trust" issue. Am I going to lose it? Am I going to forget? Am I going to leave it for many weeks? Will I later think it's my item? Then if it's lost or damaged, you have to think of how to repay the person. That usually stresses me out. I actually loaned one of my maternal aunts my "Selena" DVD just about a little over a year ago, and I haven't gotten it back since. My guess is she thought it was hers since or her son's (my cousin) she's had it for a while already. I keep forgetting to ask for it back. There were times when I wanted to watch the movie but couldn't because I don't have it with me. |

The only person who borrows my stuff (without asking btw) is my sister and I can't even take her stuff because I'm heavier than her. But no, she borrows them and I don't see them for a while since she carries her stuff in her bookbag for some reason.
