i dont know a good title for this thread.
but what is a movie or song that reminds you of a certain period of your life? like when i listen to "Born in the USA" CD, i think about going down to Cedar Point because we always listen to that going down there. or when im eatting sunflower seeds, i think about watching National Treasure because during the summer when ever i watched the movie, i always ate sunflower seeds. or when i listen to "Jump" or "tubthumping" i think of John Ritter because i was obsessed with him when i liked those songs. what is something that does that to you? |

The song "Afternoon Delight" always reminds me of summer and more specifically, 4th of July '76, great day, great summer.

"My Hometown" by Bruce Springsteen reminds me of the town I lived in from 1979 to 1985.

A song called "So Sexy" reminds of Summer 2004 for some reason.

Oh, I have tons of songs that remind me of special memories. In fact, there they are too many and too tedious to list every single one of them.
How many of you actually play those special songs ON that special time, if you create little mental anniversaries? Or, play them around those special days (meaning, not just one particular day)? I have been doing that these past days because I am having reminiscing and fond memories of the month of April.

'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go' by Wham! reminds me of the third grade. I can remember sitting in the cafeteria and someone mentioning it. I got all excited because I knew all the lyrics. It's just really fun.

"Gone" by Kelly Clarkson reminds me of Disney World, cause I listened to it obsessively there.
"Inside Your Heaven" by Carrie Underwood reminds me of the AI4 tour and the AI4 finale. A few Britney Spears songs actually remind me of when I was like 7 cause I liked her back then

Oh wow, I have a whole lot of songs. Well, the songs "Jeremy" by Pearl Jam and "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana will ALWAYS remind me of my pre-teen years because they were the first bands I really started liking.
"Sweet Dreams" by Marilyn Manson reminds me of 8th grade because some kid signed my yearbook with those lyrics (and I used to play it a lot on my Walkman). Alot of songs from Sublime, The Doors, and Pink Floyd remind me of the summers in 9th and 10th grade when I actually HAD a life and went out with friends or to the beach for shows. Those were good times. Plus, Sublime is very summery music. Also, that was when I was CRAZILY obsessed with the Beatles, so songs from them (especially from the White Album) remind me of hanging out with my friend Janene and we'd watch their movies and dance around to their music. The Thong Song by Sisqo (sp?) reminds me of my 11th grade junior trip to Washington, DC because that was a really popular song at that time and everyone used to sing it. "Get Right Back to Where We Started From" by Maxine Nightingale (it's a song from the 70s) will always remind me of my best friend Bethany because we used to blast it in the car and make up stupid dances to it (and have an inside joke for that song too, which makes it more funny...well, to us anyway )And, finally, a lot of songs by 50 Cent remind me of hanging out with my friends, Tiff and Rose. Just the whole party atmosphere, I guess. |

Unfortunately, the "Thong Song" was big my senior year in high school. So, hearing it takes me back. I think it's an awful song though.

Here there are these trees that gives off this sweet smell in the summer time. And I seem to only smell it in the summer time when I'm around a lot of trees in the late evening. And that sweet smell takes me back to when I was little because I grew up around lots and lots of trees. Strange I know lol

Whenever I smell lilac blossoms, it reminds me of when I was still a kid and still living in my childhood home. We had a few lilac bushes in our yard, and our yard always smelled so nice when they came into blossom. I adore lilacs.
