i have 2 pcs both with Nec burners, they both read and copied several dvd sets until i put some labels on them using my avery's labels. now none will read, to verify this is the problem, i peeled the labels back off and bingo, they will read again. |

i learned the hard way that stick on labels are a serious problem
i have spent numerous hours getting off with knives, etc in case anyone is looking for a solution to labels i have two seperate ones 1- i use taiyo yuden thermal printable discs a thremal hand held printer runs about $60, casio brand costs about 15 cents per disc for the thermal ribbon 2- i have a epson 320 printer that that has a dvd tray it prints right on the dvd you must use a white top printable disc they are much more expensive sams club has printable verbatiums at $39 per hundred you can print anything on the discs this way and the quality is great just remember to allow them to dry for a couple hours before stacking--another hard learded lesson |

I also learned the hard way.
At first I wanted ot be artistic- and made beautiful labels They dont burn, few play I was told that due to the reflectability- that the cover can make this a problem as well as friction. the discs i had with labels I saoked ove rnight in hot water, and peeled way gently what ic ould. Some i got off completely some i got off enough that they play about 40 percent i dumped and had to replace. |

dvd's become UN-balanced when using labels. thus causes them to skip and unplayable.
Inkjet printables, as loren pointed out, are the way to go if you want to be creative. |
