Default The Ben Wallace/Flip Saunders Feud-LOL

Ben Wallace was mad on Friday Night because he was taken out of a close game and when asked to go back in the game he said-"NO_-lol Now I'm sure every NBA Fan on this board agrees that Ben Wallace shouldn't be on the Floor in a close game mainly because he gives NO OFFENSE. The fact that he is not a scoring option makes no sense to have him in the game when it's close.

Ben Wallace said to the Media-"I DON"T WANT TO BE TAKEN OUT OF CLOSE GAMES"-lol

Is that so?-lol

I'm really not sure what that was all about, but I guess that's between Ben and Flip. I doubt it will amount to anything. It's probably not even a feud but just some story to get people talking. Who knows, though?

It would be disrespectful and ignorant for Flip to take Ben out in a close game because he provides "No Offense" IMO. I personally have absolutely NO PROBLEM with Big Ben being out there during close games. Maybe he isn't exactly a "offensive machine", but he provides defensive energy and his defensive presence is huge. Take a look at his game saving block a couple weeks ago in the last Pacers game. Take a look at his monster block on Mike Miller and Pau Gasol during the second Grizzlies game, they lead to two fastbreak three's by Chauncey that won the game. Without Ben Wallace being on the court, those games could go either way. Just because he's not a scoring option doesn't mean he's useless. With that logic you could argue he's useless, close game or not...Because fact is, he is NOT that big of an offensive threat at all, he rarely scores over 10 or 15 points. His strongpoint is his DEFENSE, and he plays defense just as good as anybody in the league. You cant rely on good shooting alone in close games, you also need defense to get the stops that can create oppurtunities for your team to score. Ben Wallace is an excellent shotblocker, rebounder, and overall defender. He can create defensive stops HIMSELF. Ben Wallace brings SO much more to the table than what shows up on the stat sheet. There have been too many games for me to count in his years as a Piston that wouldn't have even been close had he not been around.

I would have to agree that in close games defense is just as important as offense. In close games getting deffensive stops is really important.

Ben Wallace acted like a little bitch in that game. It's like Mark Jackson said earlier today, you're paid to go out there and play basketball, not to sit on the bench when your coach tells you to go in. He was mad that he was taken out of the game, so what does he do?? He voluntarily sits out for the rest of the game, lessening his teams chances of winning. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense. LOL!! I personally don't think he should even get paid for that game. The Pistons only lost by two points, and had Ben gone in when he was told to, they probably would have won. It was a stupid move on his part, and by not apologizing, he just proves that his ego is even bigger then that huge ass afro he use to sport.

Oh yeah, and by the way, I wasn't saying Ben was right for what he did. He was wrong. Although he may have his reasons as to why he acted the way he did, he should apologize to Flip and the team. Definetly out of character for him. That isn't his style. I was just pointing out that taking him out of a close game because he doesn't score is a bad decision. From what I know Ben played the entire second half up until then, so it was probably time for him to sit.
