Words you thought meant good things, but then found out they meant bad things?
Are there words you thought were good things or compliments, then found out that they were bad things or insults? I have one. The word "decadent". I thought that decadent was a good thing, then I found out that decadent means terrible. The word sounds like a good thing........... Like if someone said, "This cake is decadent, I would have thought they meant the cake was delicious. Or if someone said, "Your behavior at the restaurant was decadent", "I would have said, "Thank you."
