Default Lori Zimmerman

Did they ever solve the case of Laurie Zimmerman? It was the case that psychic Dorothy Allison was working on in Hagerstown, Maryland. She was raped and they found a foreign object in her throat.

Yes thats a good question. I couldn't find out anything about her on the net. It didn't seem that Dorothy "clues" were much help though.

I regret to say that you searched under the wrong name. Her actual name was Lorraine Zimmerman; she was nicknamed Lori.

Here's an online profile of Lori Zimmerman:

Thanks for the info, I got the name wrong from the Unsolved Mysteries piece. I guess the case was never solved even with Dorothy's help.

Here's another profile (albeit a short one):

http://www.free-webspace.biz/thevict..._lorraine.html

It says Lori's murder remains unsolved "as of May 2004."

I have written off and on to the Maryland State Police about her unsolved murder. Unfortunately I was living overseas, at the time of her death. My mother and Sandy's mother were sisters. My mother told me, although Lorie's mother Sandy, went to the Police and filed a missing person report, no one acted on it right away, thinking she was a runaway. I was told that the police did nothing for 24 or 48 hours.
I have told the police via the internet what my family members saw and heard during the time Lorie was missing until she was buried. This also included information that I felt was important for the police to know. My parents have passed and My Aunt, Sandy's mother has passed. Time is running out. Hopefully someone will take an interest and solve this unthinkable crime.Todays date: 06/25/2008

So do you think Dorothy Allison was just full of it or provided real clues?

I think Dorothy was well meaning and her heart was in the right place...but her "visions" seemed to be way off and quite vague. I think she may have felt pressure to solve this case because she was on TV and solving cases isn't that simple and easy. I have known a couple psychics that have solved cases and it takes months even years to get the correct information you need for a case. I don't see Dorothy as a fake as some on other boards claim...but I feel that she really wasn't prepared to solve that case that was basically handed to her on a whim.

This case got so little attention it's quite said. Still no one has come forward.

I just watched the segment that mentioned her case and I feel so bad for her family. They never got any closure. Short of someone confessing, I doubt they'll ever find out who did it.

having just re-watched the Dorothy Allison segment I have to say UM really dropped the ball here. I mean sure, do your little psychic segment, great. But at least follow it up with maybe some pertinent information about the case, otherwise it just comes across like they were exploiting the murder of a child.

Wouldn't even need to be a full recreation. Just the who, what, when, where details. Maybe that would have helped more than 50 random guesses, but maybe that's just my psychic intuition talking.

I tend to agree.

This particular case always stuck with me because my ex-SIL resembles Lori Zimmerman so much they could be twins. I was pretty astounded the first time I saw the full segment.

There's not even much public information available to indicate whether she was likely abducted by a stranger or if she met up with someone she knew. This is in fact about the most I've ever found out about the case:

https://mdsp.maryland.gov/Organizati...s.aspx?CCID=71

A 2013 article describes that her mom put her on a taxi to go to school, and then she rode the bus to a friend's home, where she stayed for about 10 minutes. It seems nobody really knows what happened after she left the house.

http://articles.herald-mail.com/2013...formation-case

There is this from 2013. It details a Jeffrey Eldon Miles Sr. as being a possible suspect, he confessed to one and was convicted of another murder in 1995 and 2010.
