Just like to know how long did Law And Order: SVU go for and which season was it that Richard Thomas guest starred? Also, can anyone tell me what kind of character did he play, was it a homosidal type character?

It started in 1999 and is in it's 7th season.

Richard Thomas was in Season 2, Episode 21: "Scourge", 11 May 2001. His character's name was Daniel Varney. I am trying to recall the episode, but they all kinda blur together after a while. I know I did see it tho....

Yes, he did play a homicidal type--but the "punch line" was that he was killing due to something very unusual that was affecting his brain (I won't spoil it for you entirely, if you haven't seen it).
