I sometimes record shows on my dvd recorder, then edit them on my computer, and I have purchased some dvd-rw so that I can reuse the discs. Problem is that I'm not sure how often you can use the dvd-rw before the quality of the recording starts to deminish. Can someone advise on the maximum amount of times that they should be used (they are good quality brands).
Thanks, Jie |

if you want to use them more than a couple times
then the dvd ram discs are the ticket rated at 100,000 cycles about $3-5 each make sure your recorder will handle them some will not |

its a crap shoot realy!
ive used a single Sony DVD -RW in my liteon standalone dvd recorder to capture shows for use on my computer literly HUNDREDS of times with NO problems at all! could be just luck i suppose, but you should be able to get alot of use out of a RW to do what your trying to do. i agee that a RW should NEVER be used as a long term storage media. use a solid brand of standard -R for you long term FINAL PRODUCT discs. |

I have been recording every episode of a lot of shows, for like 9 Months now, and I have alot of finished sets, I have been recording them on DVD+RW. For some reason my duplicator won't copy any of the DVDs that I make on my recorder (+R or +RW). They all play fine, I just can't copy them. Is there anything that I can do? I hope that I can at least have somone copy them on a Computer Burner. If anyone knows any thing about this could you please let me know? Any info is much appreciated.
Thanks |

As far as I know, most duplicators will only copy finalised discs, and I'm not sure, but I think that if you finalise a dvdrw, it can't be used again. Also, is your duplicator definately dvd+r and not dvd-r?

I do finalize the discs, My duplicator can copy both +R and -R, but only burn to DVD-R.
